The Ministries of Madeira Baptist Church
Our lives can be viewed as the sum of our relationships. The most important relationship is that which we each can have with the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ. With that relationship established, the other relationships we have with those in our families and fellow believers can enrich our lives in the body of Christ. The ministries of Madeira Baptist Church, therefore, have a two-fold design: to allow our members to be a blessing to others and to allow others to be blessed by our service.
Children
There is truth to the statement that "the children are our future," but even more basic than that is the promise recorded by Solomon: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). We may reap the benefits of training up godly children, but the real benefit in a harsh world is theirs--a solid foundation based upon biblical principles. To develop children accordingly, we offer the following ministries:
Awana: K4 through sixth grade

The Youth
Some of the most exciting (and most challenging) times of a person's life may occur during their teenage years. Realizing the critical nature of this age group, Madeira has commissioned our very capable Assistant Pastor, Bro. Lee Fulenwider, with direct leadership of our teenagers. The youth ministry is not program-oriented, but Person-oriented, stressing the fundamentals of spiritual growth in Jesus Christ by Bible study, prayer, Christian service, and evangelism. The following opportunities are available for your teenager:
Single Adults
Paul wrote in I Corinthians 7 that some Christians have the God-given gift of being single. Whether you have such a gift or not, Madeira singles are able to serve in many capacities: Awana leaders, Word of Life helpers, the Nursery, and several opportunities within the Music Ministry. To meet the unique needs of single adults, Madeira offers the following Sunday School classes:

Married Couples
The family is the building block of society, and we strive to build that family by building spouses' relationships with Christ and with each other. The fellowship within our Sunday School classes provides a tremendous support structure, but the key to healing and building the husband-wife relationship lies in the Sunday School Bible studies:
"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of the water by the word..." (Ephesians 5:25-26).
Studying and applying God's Word is the foundation of Madeira's ministry to couples, but we have another unique component to our ministry--excellent examples of godly marriages throughout our church leadership, beginning with our Pastor and his wife, Bro. Jerry and Ms. Glenda.
Because our human nature keeps a "perfect" relationship impossible on this earth, we are truly blessed to have ministers, deacons, and teachers who live the principles preached and taught in our church. The resource they provide is the premier example of the principle of "mutual submission" (Ephesians 5:21) that drives every relationship at Madeira.
